The very first time we went to the beach, when my daughter was 14 months old, I made a photo book of the trip. We’ve gone every year since then, once if not twice, and she is now nine. I’ve never managed to edit one of those trips to the beach. I’ve never managed to get photos from the trips into books. I’ve complained about this for years but complaining doesn’t get the work done. At this point it is overwhelming to know where to begin! But I’m resolved to fixing our lack of adventure trip books starting now, as my children begin their first day back to school tomorrow morning! I’m hoping to find many, many unseen wonders like this one from our trip in June.
Going out to eat is such a treat for these two. They love picking out their special dishes and getting treated to something sweet to drink. I love not being in charge of cooking for them. It’s a welcome change for all of us!
It’s the first full week of school, summer vacation officially over. But don’t try to tell them that. It’s all water balloons, sprinklers, volleyball and bare feet around here, and I don’t see that slowing any time soon.
As they get older, it’s getting more difficult to catch them completely unaware of the camera. I was glad to sneak up on them watching the Nationals game to catch a candid moment complete with genuine smiles.
The swamps of Louisiana are not our normal stomping grounds, but “when in Rome” you must take advantage of getting up close and personal with the gators.
How is it that summer can move so slowly AND go by in the blink of an eye? Just like our life I guess. Flashing before our eyes, but the seconds just drag by.
